Godly Counsel

BLESSED (Happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. Psalm 1:1 (Amplified)

Are you facing an important decision? This verse makes it very clear that we must be wise and seek the Lord about the company we keep during a decision making time. You must be observant of your surroundings and not take counsel from the wrong source. The ungodly have plans and purposes that do not line up with the will of God, and when we follow them, we will not experience the blessings of God. You cannot listen to their counsel or advice because it will lead you astray.

The amplified Bible says not to sit down and relax in the presence of an ungodly person. In other words, when you are in a time of seeking the will of God, spend time in His presence, and then only seek Godly counsel to confirm you are making the right choice.
